ABOUT US

RHi is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit entity established to improve the social welfare of children and youth living with HIV in underserved areas of Tanzania. Through collaboration with local and international stakeholders, the Organization aims to provide access to basic, effective, and efficient healthcare, educational services, and material support to address the barriers preventing these children from achieving their full potential. The Organization shall carry out its mission with the goal of promoting health, education, and overall well-being of children living with HIV.

VISION

To achieve equitable access to basic, effective, and efficient educational and health services for children and youth living with HIV in underserved communities in Tanzania.

MISSION

To improve the social welfare of children living with HIV by proactively engaging various stakeholders in training, material support, and other initiatives that address challenges hindering their ability to reach their full potential within their communities.

OUR PROGRAMS

At Rafiki Health Initiative, we offer a variety of programs designed to support youth at different stages of their journey

Health Access Program

We work to ensure that children and youth living with HIV in underserved areas receive consistent access to essential healthcare services. This includes facilitating medical check-ups, providing antiretroviral therapy (ART), and supporting adherence through trained healthcare volunteers and mobile outreach clinics.

Education for Empowerment

We support the educational journey of children and adolescents living with HIV by providing school supplies, tuition assistance, and mentorship programs. By removing financial and social barriers, we help students stay in school, build confidence, and pursue their dreams.

Psycho-Social Support & Counseling

Living with HIV can be emotionally challenging. Through group therapy sessions, peer mentorship, and individual counseling, this program provides a safe space for children and youth to express themselves, build resilience, and foster hope for the future.

Community Engagement & Awareness

We engage families, caregivers, and the broader community in workshops and awareness campaigns that tackle stigma, promote HIV education, and foster inclusive support systems. This program strengthens communal care and promotes a culture of acceptance and shared responsibility.
